Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Meniere's: Symptom Tracker ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you visit this website or use the Meniere's: Symptom Tracker iOS app. We follow a simple rule: collect as little as possible, never sell or share your health data, and be explicit about anything that leaves your device.
1. Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your symptom notes, journal entries, attack severity, duration, or medication data.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not collect your name, email address, or Apple ID through the app.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or health-data brokers.
2. Information we do collect
On this website
- Basic analytics (page views, country, referrer) via a privacy-respecting analytics provider. No cookies used to identify you personally.
- Email address if you voluntarily subscribe to updates via our Tally form. See section 4.
In the app
- Symptom data you enter — stored locally on your device, optionally backed up to your private iCloud account if you enable it in iOS Settings.
- Crash and diagnostic data via Apple's standard system, only if you opt in on your device.
- Anonymous risk-prediction signals — see section 3.
3. Anonymous risk-prediction signals
To power the app's attack-risk prediction feature, a daily snapshot of aggregated trigger signals is sent to Apple's CloudKit public database. These snapshots are used exclusively to train and retrain the prediction model. Because they contain only an anonymous random UUID and aggregated numerical values, they are not personally identifiable.
Included:
- Aggregated daily values: salt level, sleep hours, stress (1–5), caffeine yes/no, alcohol yes/no
- 3-day and 7-day trailing averages of the above
- Barometric pressure and short-term pressure change at your general area
- Whether an attack occurred that day (yes/no) and the count of recent attacks
- Day of week and month for seasonal patterns
- An anonymous random UUID, not linked to your Apple ID
Never included:
- Your name, email, Apple ID, or any direct identifier
- Your notes, journal entries, or free-text content
- Your precise location
- Medications, attack severity, attack duration, or symptom details
This collection is integral to the prediction feature and is not user-configurable. Data travels over Apple's encrypted CloudKit transport.
